I was famous for a night… not really but same same.
So if you didn’t already know I’m in Bangkok for a few nights before I fly out of this amazing country. First day here I made friends with two guys from San Diego by challenging one of them to a fight in the street. Don’t ask. But a friendship was formed and its epic. We went to Khao San road and had a blast. Daniel is the king of dance battles.
Yesterday was my moment of fame. After spending 6 hours at the huge weekend market (literally shopped all day), Daniel, Richard, graham and I went to a football game. Football is soccer before you get confused. We went to see the pro teams Bangkok United and Port play against each other. This was incredible. The ticket was 100 baht. So $2.80 to watch the game. We got front row seats and sat next to the locals who had drums and flags. It was Insaneeeeee! Let me just say I was the ONLY white girl there. I’m sure people all over were thinking “what is this white girl doing here”, but I’m so glad I went. So many people kept taking photos with us and of us.
After the game ended and Bangkok won 6-2 I walked to the front to see if I could see the players better. This guy named Oat who was a photographer started taking my photo and told all the photographers on the field to take pictures of me. Then he asked if I wanted to meet the players. Of course I told him yes and grabbed the guys to come with me. One in particular I wanted to meet, number 7 Dragan Boskovic. After the game he took his jersey off and threw it to the crowd. That’s when I knew I had to meet him. So I told Oat that and he went into the locker room and told him I wanted to meet him and I was a huge fan. Hahahaha I know nothing about this team. But anyways we waited and there he was. Came out and went straight to me and we talked for like 5 minutes! It was so cool and his friend on the team named Anthony was from Dallas! I met anthony’s uncle and we talked for like 10 minutes about Dallas and how he went to Ole Miss. The term small world fits perfectly to describe this night. Oh and this night, including the ticket, transportation and food was $11…. I know.
Here are some photos of the night!
Now today Graham, Richard and I took a trip to Ayutthaya. This is Thailands original capitol that was burned down long ago. It’s a city of ruins. We’ve pretty much seen the whole town today and it’s very historic. We walked the ruins and saw big headless Buddha. Definitely should check out my photos on Facebook!! Tomorrow I’ll head back to Bangkok for one night to fly out the 28th!!
For those who aren’t informed. I leave the 28th to LA, there I will see my old besties Abby and Freedom. Then march 1st I will fly to Minnesota to see family up there and will be back in Dallas the 4th! I can’t wait to see each of you soon and thanks so much for all the support throughout my entire trip!!!
