MILANO

Where do I even begin…

This day was incredible! Fatin and I set a limit of 20 euros to spend today to see if we could do it. Well we did, we actually only spent 10 each. We woke up had some tea and biscuits at our home. Then we went to the bus stop to go to the city and our host Gy (pronounced juicy) she gave me her bus pass. We stopped at a pizza place and each got a slice and I swear that was the best most filling slice I’ve ever had. And for only 3.50! Then we went into town and saw the castle. It was massive. The entire time I kept thinking about how many generations of people have passed through. As a tourist or a local or even hundreds of years ago when there was a ruler in that castle. The styles over the years, the cultures it was so overwhelming. After that we walked through this gorgeous park which reminded me of Austin. Straight through that park is their Arch de Triumph. Weird I know. But still cool looks very similar to the one in Paris. IMG_1835.JPG

After that we went to the cathedral which took my breath away. Fatin and I just stared thinking about how they sculpted hundreds of statues and stuck them on there. How each part of that building has so much history, sculpture and intense design behind it. It was seriously the most beautiful thing I’ve seen yet. Pictures will not do it justice. Ever. Next to it is the gallery which was of course, beautiful. It meets into a big circle with 4 different hallways of stores and of course only the top of the top are allowed in.

So after all that we decided to head home and maybe go to the market. Well, I was in luck because Gy asked us if we wanted to eat dinner with her and her friend. It was chicken so fatin declined but I said heck yeah! Not really, I was very polite. Anywho, we have dinner, her, her friend and I. Let me set the scene for y’all. Two vegetarians (who decided to cook chicken and meatballs, I know) and I at a nice dinner table. Chicken and baked vegetables and rice and meatballs which were not even in comparison to a meatball I’ve seen. This meal looked nothing like something I would eat but being polite I did. It was actually really good!! Okay back to the scene, so us three eating and only being able to communicate through google translate. We legitimately passed the phone back and forth. But it was awesome!!! Let me some up dinner for you.

They both congratulated me on my traveling and how young I am. We talked about America and Texas and of course Donald Trump. Then we talked about Gy, who is going to Africa when we leave her house. She is going for 1 month to teach children art with this organization. Okay first and foremost those who know me know I loveeeeee Africa. I’ve always wanted to do mission work or go with a group over there. So of course I became thrilled by this topic. I told her how artistic my family and myself are and showed her some pictures of that and also the fashion stuff I have done and man we became best friends. She invited me to go with her and help and sadly I will be in Thailand when she goes but we have arranged contact because she wants us to come together on a project for the school children. Do something Art based. She has “family” (really close friends) in Dekar and has been several times. Her whole house is filled with art and pieces from Africa. We talked for hours and she was so baffled she kept translating “We were meant to meet”. Seriously the best dinner of my life.

img_1814God is moving mountains slowly in my life y’all. Every place I go I meet people or see or do things that can’t be by chance. God knows how much service has been on my heart and of course he knows how fast my heart beats for Africa so this was really something special. To me at least. Making connections and opportunities are what I asked for and God sure is providing.

Make sure y’all are friends with me on Facebook. I have an album of photos for every place I go. I can’t just post photos on here so they are on my Facebook profile:)
