Day 1 in Paris!

WE MADE IT!

I can’t believe were actually here! Today was pretty crazy since technically its been two days because of the time difference. I feel like I haven’t slept in ages… For a quick recap of our day it was airport, metro, metro, more metro, food, airbnb, more metro, pretty lights and buildings and bed. If you want a full days adventure keep reading!

Anywho, today was an adventure to say b the least! We left austin and when we got to the airport we almost boarded the wrong plane, and then we landed in Atlanta to connect to our other plane ON THE OPPOSITE END and barely made it before the doors shut. You know when you see those people sprinting through the airport…that was us. Thank you to the lady who helped and ran with us! Okay back to the flight, we got on and finally for once a hot guy sat next to me (sadly married) but we touched knees a couple times. It was cool. We also got free wine but then it all spilt when we went through hours of the heaviest turbulence I have ever flown through. It was hilarious watching said married guy chug his wine while shaking all over. The rest of the flight went smooth and Paris there we were!

Getting out of the airport was the most difficult thing of the whole day! Customs went by in like 2 seconds but of course our bags decided to take their sweet time. Oh and the RER train that takes you straight to Paris was broken…of course. SO, Fatin and I took our map reading skills from girl scouts and got on a different train. We took that to some town called gooseville (really its pronounced Goussainville) and learned quickly how to say “Je ne parle pas beaucoup de francais”. Finally reaching our Airbnb, it is so stinking cute! There are 10 rooms and we haven’t met the other guests yet but its a really cool place! Its right next to everything and a couple of metro lines away from the City Centre (where all those famous building live).

Y’all, the lights, buildings, Eiffel Tower, Arch de Triumph, the giant ferris wheel!!!! It was amazing. The people we met today were so friendly and called out our American-ness instantly. I tried to fool them with my french but when they looked at me puzzled I realized I needed to brush up on some very multi-use words…I’m trying okay.

Today hands down was an amazing start to our trip and thank you all for the prayers and guidance! I can’t wait for the next 6 day in Paris!!!!!! Oh and in case y’all were wondering yes I am the tallest girl around. I’m literally a walking sign that says giant blonde american. Its cool though, I make it work! TTYL
